Historic center
Plaza de las Flores, Estepona
The historic center of Estepona draws attention for being very well maintained and recently renovated, making the walks on foot easy to enjoy a typical urban landscape of Andalusia, with its whitewashed houses, and flower pots.
This greenery is what gives the town the appellative of “The Garden of the Costa del Sol” for its numerous corners, passages, squares and parks to be enjoyed with all five senses.

The commercial offer is very varied and complete, ideal for a morning or afternoon of shopping visiting the fashion, decoration, or art shops, as the other traditional shops such as haberdasheries, fabrics, gifts, souvenirs, etc.; combining avant-garde and tradition in perfect harmony.
There are several routes to enjoy if you like walking, the Coastal Path, which is in the process of being extended, will allow you to walk along the coast of Estepona, do some sport or simply contemplate the beautiful sunrises and sunsets that it offers us.

Alongside, the old town and the fishermen’s quarters, the Paseo Marítimo is being extended into landscaped boulevards, with seating areas, beautiful fountains, and terraces for a refreshment.

There are several must-see monuments such as the Church of Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios, built at the end of the 18th century. Its façade combines Marian, Franciscan and pre-Columbian iconographic elements.
The Clock Tower, part of which dates from the 16th century, and the belfry from the 18th century (neoclassical style).
Estepona’s “Torre del Reloj”
The ruins of the Roman Tower, one of the most important archaeological sites in Malaga, dating from the 4th century AD, 1600 years ago.
The Aljibe house, in the Plaza Augusto Suárez Figueroa, also known as Plaza Vieja. The name is due to the fact that the subsoil of the courtyard houses a cistern of Muslim origin, rectangular in shape and covered by a half-barrel vault.
The remains of the Castle of San Luis, ordered to be built by the Catholic Monarchs and built during the reign of Felipe II in the 16th century. Its construction reinforced the old medieval wall of Arab origin.
The Punta Doncella Lighthouse has different viewpoints to admire the beauty of the Fishing Port, the Harbour, the Mediterranean Sea, and to see as far as Morocco and Gibraltar.
You can also enjoy a guided tour of the historic old town of Estepona on foot, by Segway or by bike.

Beaches
In Estepona we have several beaches, a total of 21 km., to walk, sunbathe or practice your favourite water sports. Many of them have been awarded the blue flag of quality. The main beaches have watchtowers to guarantee the safety of bathers.
Beaches in the central area
La Rada beach, Estepona
– La Rada Beach is 2,630 meters long and has fine sand.
Close to the main streets of the municipality and flanked by its wide and landscaped Paseo Marítimo, recently extended and renovated, which has received the award of honour “Ciudades que caminan” (Cities that walk), turning it into an open balcony overlooking the Mediterranean.
It is ideal for strolling, sunbathing, or visiting its beach bars (chiringuitos) where you can taste the famous “espetos” and “pescaíto” frito (fried fish).
• Playa del Cristo is a small bay, flanked, to the west, by a forest of eucalyptus trees and where bathing is a calm and pleasant experience as there are hardly any waves and it is sheltered from the wind.
– It has access from the car park for the disabled with chairs, amphibious crutches and changing rooms.
Beaches in the eastern area
Velerín beach, Estepona
Some of them with very few visitors and a lot of peace and quiet, some with pine forests that reach down to the sand, ideal for water sports. They are:

Beaches in the western area
Ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sea. You can see the Rock of Gibraltar, and, on clear days, the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.
Some of them are in a wild and rocky environment that invites diving.

The Port

THE FISHING PORT
Estepona, with its fishing tradition, has a beautiful harbour and fish market where the fish brought in at dawn by the fishermen is auctioned in the afternoon.
THE MARINA
The pontoons, packed with boats of all sizes, follow one after the other along a beautiful promenade, where you can enjoy the views from one of the countless bars or restaurants.
THE SUNDAY MARKET
Open from 9:00 a.m., offering a wide range of handicrafts, clothes, costume jewelry, home decoration, and art in a bustling and colorful atmosphere.
Cycling
Cycling in Sierra Bermeja, Estepona
Estepona has several kilometres of cycle paths, as well as country and mountain trails for cycling.
The Senda Litoral (coastal route) is classified as a “cycle route”.
The good climate allows it to be practised practically all year round.
The Sierra Bermeja and the Parque de los Pedregales are ideal options with wonderful landscapes.
Other routes are the trails to the beautiful white villages of Benahavis and Casares.
The Town Hall also provides a bicycle and electric scooter rental system which is ideal for visitors.

Our mountain range has a unique flora and fauna of a high ecological value and unique views of the coast of Estepona, Cadiz, Gibraltar, and even the Atlas Mountain Range in Morocco.
The hiking routes, of various levels, by Paseo de los Pinsapos, Pico de los Reales Path, Fuente del Porreón, Casa de los Guardas, Road of the Altabacales and the route of Puerto de la Artesa, among others.
You can also enjoy a beautiful visit to the Municipal Park of San Isidro Labrador.
Water Sports
Estepona offers the possibility to practice the water sports of your choice such as swimming, sailing, diving, kayaking, paddle surfing, or wakeboarding.
You can rent a jet ski, a sailing boat excursion and a range of choices that will surprise you if you approach the marina.
Orchid Garden

More than 4,000 plants, including 1,500 species of orchids from all over the world, in 1,000 square meters of gardens with different microclimates, a lake, a huge waterfall, a bamboo forest, and its famous glass dome that lets in sunlight as if it were a greenhouse.
It is a unique botanical experience at any time of the year.

Gastronomy
The gastronomic offer in Estepona is very extensive, with traditional restaurants and tapas bars, but also with a very interesting international proposal, which make visitors come to enjoy the food.
Andalusia has an incredible offer of the purest Mediterranean cuisine paired with exquisite wines.
You can enjoy the pescaíto (little fried fishes assortment) and the chopitos fritos (fried baby squids) best washed down with a glass of ice-cold Fino wine, in the Port’s auctionhouse.

At one of the beach bars on Playa de la Rada you will be served the famous Espetos (grilled fish or prawns) freshly made right on the beach.
Dishes made with fresh local vegetables such as Porra Antequerana (fresh vegetable soup), Ajoblanco (cold garlic and almond soup) or Ensalada Malagueña (with cod and orange) are also delicious.
